Becky is an accomplished mid-career professional who worked closely with me in the 2010 legislative session as a volunteer intern/researcher. She is responsible and inquisitive. She knows the issues and gets up to speed quickly on new topics. Becky’s passion for community and civic engagement will make her an ideal senator because of her willingness to listen to all sides of an issue.
Julie Bunn, State Representative
House District 56A, Lake Elmo
I have had the privilege of working with Becky on several creative projects, including ones in which she has generously donated time and talent to efforts aimed at creating stronger and more sustainable communities. She is hands-down one of the most reliable, dedicated, and principled people I know. Her competence, clear commitment to quality, and passion for pursuing a brighter future are valuable traits that will serve her constituents well.
Mary Hoff, Grant
I’ve had the privilege of working with Becky on numerous environmental issues important to our community. She has an uncanny ability to identify key issues important to the community and creatively articulate them in a way that is clear and meaningful to the community at large. This has been very important in gaining community support for those issues.
Al Holcomb, Mahtomedi
I have known Becky Siekmeier for about two years now. What I have seen in Becky is that she listens to people. She understands what they say, then either supports the idea or presents a different view with confidence and kindness. That is why Becky Siekmeier has my support.
Kevin Fogarty, Centerville
As a co-founder of the Mahtomedi RITE of Spring, Becky has brought creativity, enthusiasm and dedication to this annual event. Working with Becky is easy and fun. She respects others’ opinions while stepping up to do the hard work necessary for success. I think that Becky will be able to work across party lines to create good solutions to the challenges we face in Minnesota.
Bill Coleman, Mahtomedi
As I’ve gotten to know Becky I know she will be the Senator District 52 needs. In working with Becky I have learned she is committed to building a better Minnesota. As a volunteer she has demonstrated that she will devote the time and energy necessary. I expect as our State Senator she will be a leader who will seek out constituents and listen to them before making decisions. Our needs will no longer be ignored and neglected. Becky can be counted on to improve our schools, develop good jobs, assure our safety and protect our environment.
Jerry Serfling, Stillwater
I got to know Becky Siekmeier through our work together on two large-scale team projects in graduate school. Becky is great to have on any team. She is not intimidated by unfamiliar topics and her earnest desire to master a subject is very motivating and inspirational to the rest of the team. Becky strives to build consensus, and as a senator will work with people who have different interests to find common ground.
Martha E. Burton Santibáñez, St. Paul
Having Becky as a student in my Leadership for the Common Good class was a chance for me and my students to watch someone explore their own call to leadership, then step forward and answer that call. She is a smart leader who will bring hard work, passion and commitment to serving the people of her district.
Gary DeCramer, Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs
Becky Siekmeier follows through on her commitments. On a volunteer project which I managed, Becky quickly became a key team member because of her follow-through on her own work and because she was ready to back up whomever needed additional support. After that project, I turned to Becky as a vendor for my small business, knowing that I could count on her thorough research, commitment to good value for my costs, and for creative help on business projects. A vote for Becky Siekmeier is a vote for both reason and responsibility.
Charlotte Preston, Mahtomedi
I have been on several committees with Becky Siekmeier. When we began the Mahtomedi environmental fair called the RITE of Spring, Becky quickly became a leader. She kept tabs on our multiple vendors and their needs and generated enthusiasm and cooperation from the rest of us. It makes me smile to think of Becky in the MN Senate. Things will happen with alacrity and grace.
Karen Fitzpatrick, Mahtomedi
I initially got to know Becky when she was a volunteer organizing a community event associated to Earth Day in 2007. Working in a planning committee, Becky easily and willingly assumed the leadership role, and lead us to delivery of a highly successful event in six weeks time – the first of an annual ‘RITE of Spring’. In her many community roles, Becky demonstrates her involvement, sound ideas, and hard work in creating a better place to live and work, actively engaged in church, school and community. I strongly endorse Becky for Senate.
Dan Parnell, Mahtomedi
I have had the pleasure of working with Becky over the last few years on local DFL events. When a job needs to be done, Becky is always right there to lead or lend a hand. She has all the right qualities for working in a team. She’s creative, logical, meticulous, smart, and is fun and easy to work with. She understands the times we live in and is committed to bringing people together to find common ground. These are the exact qualities I want in a legislator. That is why I took on the time-consuming role of Campaign Manager. I have no doubt that she’ll work hard for us. I look forward to having Becky represent us in the Senate!
Kim Rapheal, Scandia
I recently had the pleasure of working with Becky on a group project for a Public Policy class at the Humphrey Institute. Becky invested amazing amounts of time and energy into this project – hard work that resulted in an outstanding final product for our class. Not only was she a rock star teammate and committed group member, Becky is also one of the most genuine people I know and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her. I am proud to call Becky Siekmeier my friend and I have no doubt that she will work just as hard for her constituents in District 52!
Melissa Martinez-Sones, St. Paul
Becky Siekmeier is a person you can count on. I have worked with many people over the years while I served on the school board and other community service projects. When Becky was on the team things happened. Becky was an integral member of my campaign team when I ran for the house in 52B. Her talents are many, her enthusiasm infectious, and when she commits to something she doesn’t quit until there is a good result. We are lucky in Senate District 52 that Becky Siekmeier is willing to serve all of us as our Senator.
Kate Christopher, Mahtomedi
